"Q & A" With Bass Pro Mark Rose

(By: Matt Keith - BassProAm.com Webmaster)
BPA: Right now you are 5th in the Pro Standings of the FLW Tour!
Mark: “Thank you, so far it has been a good season.”
BPA: I hear you wanted to play Pro Baseball?
Mark: “Yes, I played at Arkansas State and after a few injuries I gave up on that idea.
I did know that I wanted to compete in something.”
BPA: What is your “Go To” Lure?
Mark: “A Jig or lipless Crankbait.”
BPA: What is the best thing about being a Pro Fisherman?
Mark: “Having more time with my family is the best part, but being gone
for long periods of time is also the worst part. Also being able to reach out
to a lot of people is nice.”
BPA: Reaching out?
Mark: “I am very active with the church and there are a lot of guys on the tour that
get together before each tournament and we have our own Outdoor Ministry.”
BPA: What do you think the future of Bass Fishing is?
Mark: “Scary and Exciting time. Exciting because the sport has been growing and more
sponsors have come onboard. Scary because of the Economy, but fishing and
outdoor activities can be done relatively cheaply. Hopefully the sponsors will
weather the storm and the tours will continue to grow. “
BPA: Who was your first sponsor?
Mark: “Strike King Lures, they were a part of the BFL when I first started out,
Ranger Boats was my second.”
BPA: What do you want to do after your Pro Career?
Mark: “Luckily there is no age limit! As long as I am physically able I plan to
keep on fishing. So much of fishing is Mental that I think you can
compete as long as you want.
