Weight: An egg type weight t is the norm but a bullet style sinker will work. Up to 1 oz is used, but a 3/8-ounce weight is a good starting point.
Leader: General y about 18 inches of leader unless you know the fish are holding higher off of the bottom.
Beads: Are normally used just below the sinker.
Swivel: A number 7 barrel swivel is a good size.
How to:
Slide the sinker on the main line first. Slide on the bead next. Tie on the barrel swivel. Now decide the length of leader you want to use and tie on your hook (around a 5/0 wide gap style). Now tie the other end of the leader to the barrel hook and you are ready!
A nice easy short cast is the easiest way to start out. Fish this slow with short shakes and then drag a few inches and stop and shake.
