Big Top Water Baits:
Big lures usually mean bigger fish.
A large cigar bait like the Zarra Spook is great for larger bass. Most lipless top waters are fished the same way. To fish these style of baits you need to learn to “Walk the Dog.” You do this by reeling tight to the lure and then giving it a quick tug toward you and then just as quickly pointing the rod back toward the bait so the line gets some slack in it. Each time you do this, the bait will sort of jump to one side. Repeating this process the bait will jump to one side and then to the other. A few twitches followed by a short pause is normally when the bass attack. Repeat several times and then cast again.
Large Buzz Baits that look like a spinner that stay on the surface and make a lot of noise and are another big fish top water. You need a fast reel to keep it from sinking!
