A Few Bass Facts:
Their body temperature and metabolism are controlled by water
temperature. The warmer the water, the higher their metabolism.
Bass are most active in water about 60 to 75 degrees. Below about
50 degrees, their metabolism slows down, causing them to eat less.
Changes in water temperature affect shallow bass much more than
those in deep water.
Bass often school, so if you find one you are
likely to catch one or more in the same area.
Bass tend to be near
the bottom unless oxygen, water temp or other factors cause them
to “suspend” and different depths.
Bass like live prey. They prefer
to lie in ambush for an unsuspecting victim.
Most bass will use cover
to ambush and to provide security. Bass tend to be near cover,
structure or changes in sunlight and water color.
